Georgia Is a Champion of Rugby Europe Championship

Georgia beat Romania 25:16 in the last match of Rugby Europe Championship 2018, became champion and returned Antimoz Iverieli Cup. After the match the Romanians celebrated qualification for World Cup because Spain lost to Belgium (10:18) and took the third place. The Lelos won Nations Cup for the tenth time.

At the 8th minute Soso Matiashvili scored a penalty goal and earned 3 points. The guests also scored a penalty in three minutes. At the 20th minute one of the Romanians was sin-binned. The Georgians used this advantage and Lasha Lomidze scored a try. Matiashvili earned a conversion. At the end of the match Giorgi Nemsadze received yellow card, the Romanians scored a penalty and minimized the score – 6:10.

At the beginning of the second half Anzor Sichinava scored a try and Matiashvili earned conversion. A few minutes later Soso scored a penalty – 20:6. At the 61st minute Romania scored a penalty. Kakha Aseishvili scored a try at the 73rd minute and the guests – at the end of the match.
