Gorgodze May Transfer to "Racing"

Georgian national rugby team’s captain and third liner of “Toulon” Mamuka Gorgodze has contract with the club until June 2017, however, he may leave the team at the end of the season.

31-year-old rugby player, who had spent 9 years in “Montpellier”, moved to “Toulon” in 2014, but injuries did not allow him to settle in the team’s lineup. After the match against New Zealand at the World Cup, he was named as the best player and became the first Georgian who hit the symbolic team of World Cup, however, coaches still had no confidence towards him.

As a result, he seriously thought about leaving the team and according to the French press, he reached an agreement in advance with “Racing”. After the meeting with the president of “Toulon” Mourad Boudjellal, if Mamuka Gorgodze and the club agree to break the contract, he will move to Paris until 2019. The president of “Racing” Jacky Lorenzetti wants to build a strong team and recently purchased ex-player of “All Blacks” Dan Carter.

Before the meeting with Boudjellal, who should answer all the questions, Gorgodze returned to the lineup of “Toulon” and in the last two meetings he is one of the outstanding figures on the field.
