The Georgian seven rugby team lost the opening match of the second final stage of Europe Grand-Prix to Portugal 0:7.
In this meeting and generally in this tournament, the Georgian team, which plays practically without ligionnaires, cannot be considered as a favorite. Portugal had the advantage most of the time, but the apprentices of Kakha Alania tried not to let them to score.
But the second half started and the opponent scored the try at the right banner in a minute and also used the difficult conversion. After this, Portugal had the ball for the most part. In that rare case, when the Georgians tried to take away the ball from the opponents, the referee saw penalty or while trying to attack with maul from our own half considered the ball motionless and allowed Portugal to scrum.
Finally, the Georgian team did not allow the opponent to score the 2nd try and Portugal won 7:0. Our team will held the next match against Romania at 13:32. We remind, that after the first stage the Georgian team is in the 2nd place, and that’s why they should take at least 3rd or 4th place in the group in Romania to fight for the most highest places in total. Belgium will replace the owner of 12th place next year in total of 2 rounds of Grand-Prix.
