Three years ago we defeated American team with tries and conversions, and now their 10th number scored penalty exactly and made us sad 23:25.
The referee gave the chance to the opponent at the crucial moment and he did not miss this. We were close to win. Mamuka Gorgodze, captain of the team said:
“We were winning and losing the match together. Let no one will search for the reasons of defeat in someone’s decision – we all lost. We have not tackled well and got three stupid tries. Samoa has technically and physically stronger players, but let’s see what happens”.
Milton Haig: “we looked replays and there was not necessary to be a penalty at the final minutes but everything happens on the field and the referee made the decision. We have done more than enough to win, but we had no luck. Don’t forget that we have a rival on the field who is also trying to win the game and because of this we may not so well as we had planned”.
Georgian team only occasionally played good rugby and earned the points, but they made childish mistakes and got three illogical tries, in a result they lost and in the rating of Monday will fall down so low as ever…”
