Two Made through to Quarter-Final

Two from three teams of the Georgian legionaries overcame the group stage of “Amlin Challenge Cup” and will play in ¼ final on April 3-6.

In the third group “Brive” of Goderdzi Shvelidze and Karlen Aseishvili defeated “Calvisano” of Italy 31:9 and became unreachable for “Newcastle” of England. 4 000 spectators saw five tries of their favorite team. Only Shvelidze was on the list from the Georgian legionaries. He played the last 20 minutes.

“Newcastle” beat “Bucharest” of Otar Turashvili 28:0. The Brits scored three tries and could not gain bonus point. The Georgian rugby player who is a citizen of Romania was not on the list.

In the fifth group “Stade Francais” of Davit Kubriashvili and Zurab Zhvania won over “Lusinatos” of Portugal 48:15. Zhvania scored a try in the second half and his team advanced 20:10. 22-year-old Zhvania is holding the third season in “Stade Francais” and it is his first try in the French team. The Georgian was substituted at the 47th minute. Kubriashvili was in lineup and was substituted in the second half.

In the second group “Bordeaux” of Zaza Navrozashvili lost to “Bath” of England 13:54. The young Georgian was not on the list. ¼ finals of “Amlin Challenge Cup” will be held on April 3-6. Five winners of the group stage will join three second place of “Heineken Cup” and the pairs of the play off first round will be found out.
