Unfortunately, a bad assumption came true – the member of Georgian national team and French “Stade Francais” Davit Kubriashvili has arm fracture. This was diagnosed after the radiograph.
As a result, he will miss not only the match against Portugal, which will be held on February 8 in Lisbon, but the rest matches of Nations Cup 2014. In such situation, head coach of “Lelo” Milton Haig decided to add another first liner and called up Anton Peikrishvili (“Castres”). He will join the team in Portugal, where our team will leave this morning in order to prepare better.
26-year-old Peikrishvili plays in France since 2008. At first, he played for “Agen” and participated in Pro D2, from 2010 he joined “Castres” and regularly takes part in the matches of Top 14 and “Heineken Cup”. In this current season he took part in 11 matches of French Championship and all 6 matches of “Heineken Cup”. Anton spent 600 minutes on the field in total.
Peikrishvili holds the last season in “Castres”. He has already been agreed to “Metro Racing” and he will join this team in summer. He signed 3-year contract with the team of Paris, where Davit Khinchigashvili play. Peikrishvili has his debut in 2008, in the won match against Portugal 31:3. Last time he played for “Lelo” last year, however, before this, due to the contract with the club he was unable to play on behalf of Georgia for a long time and in a result he played only 9 matches.
