In the second match of Lisbon (Portuguese) World Cup Trophy’s group stage, Georgian U-20 rugby team defeated their main competitor Fiji 30:13.
The islanders opened the score with penalty, but Georgian responded and in the middle of the half, Tornike Bubuteishvili scored a try, to which conversion followed. Fiji reduced lag, but at the end of the half, Georgia scored again – 13:6.
The beginning of the second half was of Georgians and Rezi Jinchvelashvili increased advantage by penalty and then Anzor Sichinava scored a try – 21:6. In the middle of the half, Fiji scored responsive try and conversion, but the Georgian team took advantage again and Jinchvelashvili made the score 24:13.
On May 20, the Georgian rugby team faces Portugal. In case of victory, the Georgians will play against Tonga or Canada in final, May 24.
