For Everything against Romania

Saturday evening Georgian rugby national team will hold the most important match of spring stage 2014 at “Mikheil Meskhi”.

On this day the most principal rival Romania will visit Tbilisi, which like “The Lelos” already made through to the World Cup, but outcome of the final match is very important for both teams. It can be said that the winner will receive all the privilege and therefore, it is necessary to support our team till the end.

It was very pleasant to see the full tribunes of “Boris Paichadze” in the match against Russia and the conversion of Georgian team in the second half and leading the final 40 minutes by desired scenario was mostly merit of Georgian fans. Historic victory over Samoa in November was also the result of selfless support and now these guys need their help once again.

The match will be held on March 15 at “Mikheil Meskhi” and will start at 17:00. Ticket prices will be 3 and 5 GEL.

Especially for this day International Rugby Board sends the highest award in Tbilisi– “Web Ellis Cup”.

We said above that the winner of this match will get everything and here are: championship of Nations Cup 2014, be in C group in England at the World Cup 2015 together with the winner of qualifying stage of New Zealand, Argentina, Tonga and Africa, the right to play against Ireland in November at “Aviva” this year.

In the same match shared “Antimoz Iberian Cup” will be awarded between these teams, which is Georgians own during 3 years and in case of win it will stay for the 4th time in the Rugby Union office.

Georgian national team has the only draw against Romania – last year in Bucharest 9:9, but the tournament advantage had the Georgian team and this result was acceptable and now Romania is one point ahead of Georgia and the draw is acceptable for us only if we score 4 tries, and as for them, they will not be able to do the same.

In total, Georgia and Romania met each other 17 times and except this one draw both teams have 8-8 wins. Opponents are ahead of us by points and difference in tries (324-310 and 29-26), but this does not mean much. Romanians won 7 matches of 8 until 2006 and during this period Georgians had only 2 meetings won, from the last 8 matches “The Lelos” won 6, one draw and one loss. We lost in 2010 in Bucharest (10:22), after it, it is the 4 consecutive matches we have not lost to “The Oaks”.

Among the matches held in Tbilisi last time Romanians won 11 years ago (2003, 19:6), after this they lost 4 times and hopefully this tradition will continue.

Expanded composition of Georgian national team: Mikheil Nariashvili (“Montpellier”, France, 17 Cap, 5 points), Zurab Zhvania (“Stade Francais”, France, 7, 0), Jaba Bregvadze (“Toulouse”, France, 23, 5), Shalva Mamukashvili (“Armia”, Tbilisi, 20, 5), Davit Zirakishvili (“Clermont”, France, 43, 40), Levan Chilachava (“Toulon”, France, 14, 15), Anton Peikrishvili (“Castres”, France, 11, 0), Levan Datunashvili (“Aurillac”, France, 60, 15), Kote Mikautadze (“Toulon”, France, 19, 5), Giorgi Nemsadze (“Tarbes”, France, 37, 35), Giorgi Chkhaidze (“Tarbes”, France, 74, 50), Givi Berishvili (“Locomotive”, Tbilisi, 15, 0), Mamuka Gorgodze (“Montpellier”, France, 56, 120), Vito Kolelishvili (“Lyon”, France, 27, 15), Giorgi Tkhilaishvili (“Armia”, Tbilisi, 10, 5), Dimitri Basilaia (“Edinburgh”, Scotland, 31, 25), Shalva Sutiashvili (“Massy”, France, 41, 5); Giorgi Begadze (“Kochebi”, Tbilisi, 21, 0), Vazha Khutsishvili (“Kharebi”, Rustavi, 10, 0), Lasha Khmaladze (“Lelo”, Tbilisi, 30, 15), Lasha Malaghuradze (“Bagnerais”, France, 45, 107), Merab Kvirikashvili (“Vienne”, France, 76, 538), Davit Kacharava (“Enisei”, Russia, 71, 70), Tedo Zibzibadze (“Perigeux”, France, 75, 110), Tamaz Mchedlidze (“Bourg En Bresse”, France, 14, 15), Irakli Machkhaneli (“Armazi”, Tbilisi, cap., 71, 120), Merab Sharikadze (“Bourg En Bresse”, France, 22, 35), Beka Tsiklauri (“Locomotive”, Tbilisi, 14, 52), Irakli Kiasashvili (14, 29).
